Yves Guillemot, President of Ubisoft, has said in an interview that he wishes Wii U were cheaper. Speaking to GamesIndustry (opens in new tab), he said: “I always prefer lower pricing, so I can’t say I’m happy. I’m never happy when the machines are expensive. What we have to do there is remember that compared to an iPad, it’s cheap. With what it brings [to the gaming table] it’s cheap. But I hope they’ll be able to drop their price in time.”
The console will go on sale on November 18 in the US and November 30 in Europe, with prices starting at $300 and around £250 for the basic White model, with a more expensive Black version ($350/around £310) and several subsequent bundles being offered at higher prices.
