Catherine may have been out everywhere else for literally months now, but us UK gamers are about to get a taste of her ample charms. As if to apologise for the delay, she’s brought along a special bonus pack for everyone who pre-orders and buys the game on February 10 from GAME stores. We’re certain she probably wants something in return, but let’s have a look anyway.
Firstly, there’s a CD containing music from the game, which is… perfectly listenable. Also included in the pack is a limited edition art book containing pictures of the titular (sorry) Catherine.
Above: A CD for fans of stockings and a book for fans of conductors’ batons, apparently
Incidentally, there will be two versions of the game proper at launch – the regular one and a ‘Stray Sheep’ pack which contains a Rave T-Shirt like the one that Vincent wears in the game, two Stray Sheep bar-themed coasters and a Catherine poster that is exclusive to this edition, all served in a pizza delivery box from the Stray Sheep Bar as packaging. That’ll set you back £54.99 (EUR 69.99) while the regular version will cost £39.99 EUR 59.99, but you’ll need to buy from GAME (opens in new tab) to get the pre-order bonus, which is slightly cheaper than RRP.
One last thing that made us giggle, though – the press release that announced this pre-order pack contained the following gem of contradiction:
The artwork in the booklet is not available anywhere else, the same applies to the music tracks from the game that the limited CD will contain.
A CD of music tracks that you can’t get anywhere else except somewhere else. Brilliant. Oh well – at least we can confirm the game is worth buying, as our review (opens in new tab) will attest.
